Symphony of Toys™ is a unique family concert presentation,
in which young musicians of the New Conservatory of Dallas, via
the medium of music, help to provide holiday gifts for children
in the area in cooperation with WFAA Channel 8 Santa’s Helpers
Toy Drive. The concert features the orchestras of the New Conservatory
of Dallas under direction of Arkady Fomin, Artistic Director, Gary
Needham and Amy Gearhart.
Symphony of Toys™ concert will present music by Haydn, Schubert,
Kreisler, Shostakovitch, Anderson and Latvian composer Jekab Medinsh.
The “Don Quixote” suite by George Telemann will be enhanced
with costume presentation and narration by storyteller Brad Breitbarth
from the original novel by Miguel Servantes. Elizabeth Jones, 12
years old violinist from New Conservatory of Dallas will perform
Haydn Violin concerto in G Major. An entertaining work - Toy Symphony
by Leopold Mozart, father of the Amadeus will begin the Holiday
Concert under the baton of David Fisher of
WRR Classical 101.1 together with Toy Soloists, comprised of cultural
and civic leaders from the community and members of the Dallas Symphony
Orchestra. Comedian and writer Christopher Smith (who holds a day
time job with The Richards Group) will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
The Symphony of Toys™ begins at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November
28, 2010 at The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Admission is
a free ticket and a new, unwrapped toy for WFAA Channel 8 Santa’s
Helpers Toy Drive. Complimentary tickets can be obtained at Tom

Family concert has collected 40,000 toys over the years making New
Conservatory of Dallas a major contributor to the WFAA Channel 8
Santa’s Helpers Toy Drive.
