The
New Conservatory of Dallas celebrates its 19th Annual Symphony of
Toys TM concert on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, 7:30pm at the Morton
H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Admission to the concert is a new,
unwrapped toy that will be distributed in cooperation with WFAA
Channel 8 Santa's Helpers' Toy Drive for Kids and families in need
during the Winter Holiday Season.
On
November 27, 2005, New Conservatory of Dallas will present Symphony
of Toys in Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center at the home of New
York Philharmonic Orchestra. This presentation in cooperation with
New York Cares will bring the Gift of Music and Toys from the Kids
of Texas to the Kids of New York.
Additional
Symphony of Toys 2005 performances will take place on November 12
at Whatley Center for the Performing Arts in east Texas at Mount
Pleasant and on November 21 on the campus of The University of Texas
at Dallas.
The
Conservatory Chamber Orchestra from the New Conservatory of Dallas
is taking Symphony of Toys on International Tour from December 17
through 28th to Riga, Latvia for concerts in 4 cities. Concerts
in Latvian capital and other cities will be produced and performed
in collaboration with Latvian musicians. American-Latvian Chamber
Orchestra will be inaugurated as a result of international musical
cooperation.
The
Dallas Morning News stated "... the New Conservatory of Dallas
is recognized as Goodwill Ambassadors for the City of Dallas to
cities in both the United States and other parts of the world."
The Mayor's office of the City of Dallas has recognized the Conservatory's
Symphony of ToysTM program as a unique project where children help
other children through the medium of Classical music.
The
Symphony of ToysTM has collected close to 35,000 toys during the
past 18 years, helping thousands of children and their families
to enjoy the Winter Holiday Season.
