Conservatory Music in the Mountains provides quality music education and exciting performance opportunities to young musicians on all levels. We create an environment that inspires and challenges the aspiring young artist to work towards excellence in performance.

Conservatory performing orchestras are educational ensembles. Orchestra members are assigned appropriate seating that enhance the individual learning as well as group experience. Young Artists with advanced skills are challenged with leadership positions and serve as role models to other participants.

Solo opportunities are offered to young musicians who come to the program with prepared pieces that will benefit from coaching and public performance. The Next Generation concerts provide forum in a professional setting that serves as inspiration to listeners and performers themselves.

Solo opportunities are provided solely on Artistic Merit and are designed to encourage students to demonstrate their readiness for further development through the public performance experience. Students who wish to avail themselves in performances open to the public are encouraged to work on their pieces prior to Conservatory Music in the Mountains Festival and arrive with their music, piano accompaniment, and the desire to perform.
