Kids With String Atached is a music program that introduces violin and cello to young children with the expectation that they continue their music education in school and/or private studies.



DISCOVERY- NO EXPERIENCE

BEGINNER- Little experience up to Suzuki Book 1 (before Perpetual Motion)

Orientation July 18 at 2:00 pm
Session July 19- July 23
DAILY SCHEDULE 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The program includes:

  • Violin and Cello Instruction
  • Classes in basic music theory
  • Beginning performance opportunity
  • Concert attendance of Young Artists & Artists Faculty

Parents and educators are invited to participate in the class for an additional fee. VIOLINS are available to rent.

VIOLIN AND CELLO RENTAL
Upon acceptance into the program, if you do not have a violin or cello, contact Katzin Music in Durango to make arrangements for renting a violin for the duration of the progarm. Katzin Music (970) 259-2211

STRING IMPROVEMENT CLASS

Orientation July 11, 7:00 pm
Session I July 12-16 . . . . . . . . .Session II July 19 - 23
Daily Classes 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Qualifications:

  • Experience comparable to the level: Suzuki Book 1 (Perpetual Motion) up to Book 2 before Orchestra readiness
    (Students with ensemble experience should apply to Conservatory 2 week String Program)

Class includes:

  • Hand Position - Posture - Technique
  • Bow Distribution - Finger Velocity - Music Theory - Note Reading
  • Where Music is a Contact Sport

Kids With Strings Attached Application and Tuition Costs

Application Fee: $35 ($50 after June 10, 2010)

Tuition:
BEGINNER & DISCOVERY-$160 for 1 week
STRING IMPROVEMENT CLASS-$160 for 1 week
STRING IMPROVEMENT CLASS-$300 for 2 weeks
Parent: $35 Application Fee + $45 per week

Tuition payment is due in full by June 10, 2010. Non-refundable registration fee is due with the application form.
